The Shepparton Marathon is a stunning two-lap journey through Shepparton’s scenic river and lake landscapes. Starting at Victoria Park Lake, runners head south along the picturesque trails of the Goulburn and Broken Rivers, enjoying shaded paths and riverside views as they venture into Kialla. Upon reaching Kialla, the course weaves through a serene 7km loop around three sparkling lakes, where participants can take in the tranquility and natural beauty of the area. After completing the Kialla loop, runners make their way back toward Shepparton, crossing over the Causeway near the Midland Highway, and continue along scenic riverside paths back to Victoria Park Lake to complete the first lap. Marathoners will then embark on a second lap, revisiting the tranquil lakes and river paths, before finishing strong back at the lively festival grounds, greeted by cheering crowds. Aid stations are spaced every 4-5 kilometers, ensuring ample hydration and support throughout the course.
